Coffee is not actually a bean, it's the seed of a coffee cherry.
Removing the Bean
Removing the outer skin of the cherry and drying the bean is the goal, there are two primary methods of doing this.
Method #1-Washed
99% of coffee in grocery stores and coffee chains is washed. This robs the water supply from small villages and then dumps billions of gallons of contaminated wastewater into their streams and rivers.
Method #2 - Natural
This is the way mother nature intended, the only requirements are skilled farmers, sun, and patience. Zero washing or wastewater.
The Natural Result
More flavorful coffee and a cleaner environment while protecting precious water resources in developing countries. This is the Bean Camp way.
